"If they don’t need you, it’s okay, you do not live for other people." - Kyo

It has always been difficult for me to make friends. I am extremely quiet, reserved, and awkward. I find it hard to make small talk with people I barely know. I hate crowds. I thrive more in one-on-one conversations over coffee or good food. I have only a handful of friends and I am okay with that.  I have realized the quality of friends significantly beats out the quantity of friends. People change and it can be hard to move on, but negativity should have no place in our friendships. And like the quote above, if they don't need you why do you need them? So surround yourself with friends you can be weird with, who will love you no matter what, who you can trust and be honest with. Supportive friends and positive relationships are what it's all about.

  1. Thanks so much for this post Danielle. It describes so good how I feel most of the time. Still it's so hard to let go of friendships, even though they are not healthy, because as you said, it's not easy to make friends and I am often afraid to end up on my own....this awkwardness...

  2. I hear you! It's hard for me to make friends as well, but I'm getting better at sticking with the people who help me grow, who care for me, those I can be myself around and who surround me with positivity. Great reminder!
