the best night of my life
Other than the day I got married, this past Saturday was the best day of my life. Dramatic, I think not. After years and years of listening to, jamming to, crying to....I finally got see my favourite band live. And needless to say, Paramore did not disappoint. They blew every expectation I had of them and they set the bar pretty high for all of the future concerts I attend.
Paramore is the one band I've grown up with. It seemed like anytime I was going through a good time or a hard time, they had a song that knew exactly how I felt. This is still true today. Daydreaming and Last Hope really hit home with me now. Their lyrics and the emotions they portray are raw and genuine. You just know they come from an honest place. That's what I love the most.
What's even better is Hayley, Taylor and Jeremy bring this to the stage as well. And you can tell, it's not an act. They truly love what they do and they truly love their fans. There were a few mishaps with the sound so Hayley hopped down from the stage and talked with fans until it was fixed. That was the moment I wished I was in the standing area. Maybe next time!
It was an out-of-this-world experience that I hope one day I can relive again. (I even looked up their tour dates again to see if there were any relatively close concerts so I could see them again. You could say I am a tad bit obsessed :) ) It was a bit more emotional than I expected it to be though. I didn't cry or anything, but tears definitely welled up and I choked up a bit on songs that struck a chord in me. I guess they wouldn't mean so much to me if they didn't.
I could go on and on about how amazing Paramore is, but I'll quit while I'm ahead. If you ever get the chance though, I strongly urge you to see them live. You won't regret it. I promise!
To get a little taste of the concert, check out the mix I created based on the setlist from the concert. Find it here.
*Sorry about the crappy iPhone photos; They didn't allow 'real' cameras sadly*
Oh man! Paramore! you are so lucky, i bet it was pretty awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThey were! You should definitely see them if you get the chance :)
DeleteParamore was in town a few weeks ago but the ticket prices were a little too steep for me! However, I'm glad you had a lovely time and they had an amazing show. How awesome!
ReplyDeleteThey were a little pricey, but it was a birthday present for myself :) Plus who knows if I'll get to see them again!
DeleteThey completely blew you away, didn't they? I can't remember reading you be so happy ever before ^^
ReplyDeleteI've only known Paramore since the release of Riot!, and the single Crushcrushcrush is the first song I remember from it. It's still on my iPod, just like That's what you get. I just looked them up in my playlist and the album is ranged under 2007... where did the time go!? I also have Brick by boring brick in my playlist, but other than that I don't really know Paramore that well. At the time, I was quite hooked to The Lost Prophets and Funeral For A Friend myself, and pretty much didn't care what else was on the radio, haha. Especially that first band is to me, what Paramore is to you I think ^^ I hope they come by again soon!! xo
You could say that ;) You should definitely get their newest album. It is amazing!!
